"We've changed a lot you guys. I mean, a lot's happened since we've last seen each other." The four of us sat on the couch eating green tea and mango mochi. We talked about the present and the past. And I laughed so hard my head and cheeks hurt.
Their company was sweet and the laughter was healing. We picked up where we left off; so many laughs and cries and children later.
Sometimes I wonder why we have to live so far a part from such dear friends. And my heart begins to hurt as I think about my friends spread out all over the world. And as my heart begins to ache and my stomach tightens, I feel blessed. These sweet friends and others like them have played an important role in my life. Their friendship has changed little parts of who I am.
And though goodbyes are always hard for me, I look forward to our next adventures with Laban and Katrina and their precious babes. I look forward to picking up where we left off.
