As we have begun the new journey of two of our three kids in school, I would say we're off to a good start. The first week was a rough patch with lots of bumps and tears. Things have smoothed out since then. Vitali has adjusted and has made a few buddies. They play ninja turtles and "don't step in the hot lava!" on the playground.
While my sweet girl is napping and the mornings are quiet, I have been using my time to be a good steward of my writing. For me, writing has become a beautiful expression of God's faithfulness. I think deeply about the everyday details that I would normally pass up. It is an honor to sit down and ask for guidance, wisdom, and blessings as I write and watch it unfold. It has become an expression of my soul—a new way to breathe.
We have also taken up handball. Vitali tried to play with the third graders, but they were not interested in his rookie kindergarten version of handball. So we've been practicing. It's been getting pretty intense. I even got my head slammed up against the wall while I was trying to take pictures...and yes, I cried. I won't mention who did it!
After a busy day of school, work, and everything in between, we've been enjoying our time with each other. Our nights have been very full.
