I knew exactly what she was feeling. I remember those first days. That first week of fresh newborn skin. The smell of sweet baby breath. Silky hair that felt so good on my cheek. Watching my husband fall in love in a way I had never seen before. I remember feeling overwhelmed that God would give us such an amazing gift. That he would share a piece of his beauty with us, in the form of delicate fingers and toes.
And I click. Capture. Because every mother knows, and every mother will tell you—It goes by so fast.
And what a privilege to pause a moment in time. And we stare. And we are amazed. Only God could breathe life and movement and form inward parts as beautiful as this.
Only God could create a picture like this. His artistry is breathtaking. And we get to enjoy it. Live with it. And although time goes by so fast, and we can't stop it or even slow it down. We can stop. Hold, cradle, and stare. We can press our lips up to the most amazing gift ever given to us—life. And while we do, we will become more passionate about His beauty—The one who invented beauty.
