They Are A Blessing
In this last week many little children have been on my mind and pressed up against my heart. Friends of mine that are already parents, and friends that have the deepest longing to be parents--I have been thinking about them this week. I have been reminded of how strongly I feel about children being a blessing from God. The mother who cradles her little one in her arms would give her life for that child, because she knows they are a blessing. The mother who waits for the adoption of her son to be finalized, she is in agony. They are separated by oceans, and she wants nothing more than to protect her baby and sing his sweet little body to sleep. She knows he is a blessing. The woman that longs to be a mother, she sheds many tears and her heart is aching because she knows that children are a blessing.
Life is full of twist and turns, ups and downs. Through trials and tears we grow stronger, and along the way we become more aware that children are a blessing.
Children are hard work at times, and they remind us daily that we have a lot to learn. Through them we become more selfless. While the world says this is not good, I say it is very good! God uses children to remind us of our weaknesses and that we must depend on Him for our strength. His design is beautiful, how blessed we are to be a part of it.
For You formed my inward parts You covered me in my mother's womb I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made Marvelous are Your works And that my soul knows very well. -- Psalm 139:13–14
